"'Toys' are the paintings I am currently working on, focusing on documenting my children's toys, imagination, and experiences from when they were young. All 3 of my children have transitioned from imaginary play to adult play, like sports and electronic games. The toys from their young childhood now collecting dust. I wanted to honor the time my kids spent with these objects and the time we all spent playing with them; making up stories and using our imaginations. I want to document their importance. This series of paintings is my way of examining the overall impression imaginary play and these toys had on my development of me as a mother and the time I spent with my children playing.
