"I started this work while I was pregnant with my first son. Being pregnant, I decided not to work with my preferred medium, oil and wax, due to its potentially toxic process. I instead started to work with gouache on paper.

Being consumed with my pregnancy, as most women are in their first time, the imagery in this work reflects what I saw, read, dreamed, and talked about for 9 months. This was an overwhelming and inspiring time for me that resulted in a clear departure from the work I had done in the past. "
